About SQL for Normies

Most SQL tutorials were written for programmers, then buried under ads. SQL for Normies is for everyone else: marketers, PMs, ops leads, founders, analysts who live in spreadsheets and keep hearing "just pull it with SQL".

So the lessons start from Excel, use business data, and end with questions people really get asked. Every query runs in your browser on SQLite, a real database engine, so nothing you type leaves your device and there is nothing to sign up for.

The practice data

Brightdesk is invented. The names, numbers and companies are generated, so you can experiment freely. See the tables.

Other databases

The core of SQL (SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, JOIN, window functions) is the same in Postgres, MySQL, BigQuery, Snowflake and SQL Server. Date and text functions differ a little in spelling; lessons point that out where it matters.
